All American Drop Zone in ArcGIS Online

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

We’ve been experimenting with ArcGIS Online and the capability it provides as a way to distribute information.  We traveled to Little Rock AFB, Arkansas this week and discussed integrating AMC/A7O’s geospatial information into the 19th Airlift Wing’s C-130 flying operations.  I decided to take some of our very basic geospatial information for Little Rock’s All American Drop Zone and Landing Zone and play with it on ArcGIS Online.  Thumbnails of the maps I created are located are below.  Click on them to see the map online.  ArcGIS Online seems to have some limited capability for sharing data among numerous users, that provides them with some ability to manipulate the data within their browser.  No software required to be installed for the users.

VerticalGeo Providing Air Mobility Rodeo Support

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

VerticalGeo is at McChord Field, Washington helping the AMC GeoBase Office provide mapping support to Air Mobility Rodeo 2011. One of the ways we helped AMC was by providing an integrated picture of the Rodeo flying Routes overlaid on top of a satellite imagery basemap and real-time NextRad. This map can help arm decision makers with the information they need to make informed decisions. Here is what the map looked like on Monday morning around 8:00am Pacific Time:

VerticalGeo Supporting Air Mobility Rodeo 2011

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

VerticalGeo is at McChord Field, Washington, providing visualization support to Air Mobility Rodeo 2011. We have stood up a web-based viewer to help visualize all the ground and flying event competitions at Rodeo.  If you are on the Air Force domain you can see the viewer here.  For those of you not within the Air Force domain here is a Google Map of Joint Base Lewis-McChord Field:
